There is a certain drama to a black and white image that is rarely captured in colour. They are mysterious and moody and for me warrant a different kind of appreciation than a vibrant work of art. They often tell a story, drawing the viewer in, undistracted by overwhelming colour. Some subjects appear quite boring in colour but seen in black and white they transform unexpectedly to images of beauty and contrast.
